MIA C-D Apron Underground Utilities

Project planning, engineering design and construction phase services of the C-D Apron and Underground Utilities project as part of the North Development Plan for American Airlines at Miami International Airport. The project comprises of 12 and 24 inch diameter water and fire distribution mains, sewer collection/ transmission system, chilled water mains, jet fuel system, electrical and telecommunication ductbank, stormwater/ drainage system and apron/ pavement. The sewer transmission/ collection system includes 10 and 16 inch diameter force mains, Multiple sewer lateral connections to the Terminal Building, and a 615 gallons per minute (g.p.m.) submersible type sanitary sewer pumping station.

Comprised of:

The primary and secondary stormwater/drainage system includes twin 60 inch diameter culverts one (1) 20,000 gallon oil/water separator, grit chambers and other special large drainage structures with connections to an existing 96 inch diameter pipe.

 

The XPSWMM computer model/program was utilized for modeling of the primary and secondary system. The system was designed for a 3 day 72 hour storm event.
